Hello 2012

Hey, look at that...I am back! I feel like such a fool too. After my last post for some reason I couldn't get on my blog anymore. When I did I would get some error page. I'm still not sure what that was all about but for awhile there I just gave up! Now that I got this new beautiful laptop, I'm back and it seems that my blog is working again, YEA!!! :) :) :)
Anyway, It's a new year and I've made a lot of new goals for 2012. One of them is learning to become a better blogger, LOL. Stop starting something then falling off the face of the earth. The other one is to reopen my Etsy store and once again stay on top of it. I miss my craft time and I'm tired of letting life keep me so busy that I can't even take time to stitch a row in my forever going crochet blanket I am making to match my cute throw pillow I made last year. Now that I have found a new addiction to Pinerest.com, I sit there and drool over other peoples crafts. It's almost like being on a diet, you want that chocolate that is in the pantry yet you can't have it. I drool over others crafts knowing I can make something similar but I lost time on go do it.

So with that being said, speaking of time, I could be using this time to work more on my pretty throw blanket :p. Happy new years!!

........hum looks like I need to take a day to fix the layout of my blog as well...........:p

LONG TIME SINCE LAST POST!!! (sorry)

So, for over the past year and a half my life had gotten a little crazy and without getting into to many personal details, I had lost myself therefore crafting and other hobbies got pushed aside. During this time we had bought a house and man has all the renovations, and upgrading to make it a home have been some hard work. Then to top it all off I decided to start online college, interesting to say the least considering I have been out of school for, what, 13 years and that was high school.

Well despite everything, starting today I plan to bring back this blog, at least once a week. In the mean time for this post here are a few crochet projects I did accomplish during this blogs down time.

  • I've been trying my hand on in amigurumi patterns and just getting better at crocheting in itself:
This was my first attempt...My daughter ended up claiming her and calling it Cutie

This I made for my husband who's a Snoopy collector. Not to shabby.

In our new house I have staked claimed on the spare bedroom as a "pretty" guest room (a little throw pillow for the futon). This was made without an pattern and just done freestyle and right now I'm working on a matching throw.

For back-to-school (really my daughters start of preschool). I tested in making some crochet bows for her "hair pretty" collection (sorry for the horrible pic).

Crafty Christmas Gift

Well, my last crafty Christmas gift is done for this year. I'm so excited that I got all my shopping and crafting done early this year :D. It gives me more time to wrap up the gifts really pretty....hummm, maybe, we'll see, LOL.

Man, though, did I want to take my coffee and cuddle up on the sofa with my daughter this afternoon after I was done making this throw blanket but I resisted well.

Crafter Mojo is back....

Well I kinda lost touch of my crafty/artsy side and threw everything on the back burner. Even, sadly, my Etsy shop and this blog. Which thanks to my cafemom team they pointed out some fixer uppers to make the shop better. I just still need to take the advice into action...but procrastination and whatever is keeping me from doing so. UGH!. I really need to straighten up and get out of this funk. But I think the mojo is starting to come back....

Well the mojo seem to have started coming back in the spirit of making my daughters Halloween costume. A tutu and butterfly wings. She was just to cute for words (I know a bias mom moment, LOL). Then also due to the holidays in trying to save a little money and also to make gifts more personal I've decided to throw my hands into making those neat felt food I kept seeing online. They were so simple and fast to make, it got me excited again to be crafting. So here's the recent project I did. I apologize for the horrible photos of the felt foods but right now I can't find my USB cord for my cam. so I took these with my cell phone. (man I would like to know where that cord is!!! LOL)

Sorry

Well since my move i just haven't had much time, desire, let alone any good updates to blog. I'm also thinking on cutting out my childrens blog and just keep this one. I have other networking groups to keep the close family and friends updated on em'. I mean hey, in great news, I have made 2 sales with in a month time :D.

I should really get involved with the public world more so I can really get some cash in these pockets. I also need to get out of this rut...get back to crafting which I'm sure will get me back to blogging here :p

So I've been meaning to give a little promo to my hubby's recent now mastered CD. With the years he's been working on this project and it is finally finished. I'm very proud of him and yet glad it's done, LOL. Now his next step is productions for sales and getting notice in the public. If any of my readers are interested in listening to his sound here is his link http://www.myspace.com/fairweatherjane . Feel free to leave a comment and share your critizism (good or bad).

Hello Virginia

So, We made it cross country and what a trip it was. Exhausting as well. We left WA. April 4th and took 2 weeks road tripping with seeing family on the way. Getting us here April 20th. 2 little ones and a dog...I'm sure you can imagine the trip. Though I swear my bigger problem child was my husband and his crankiness with the kids when they would get into it....

The trip was fun though. It made the move feel more like a vacation for awhile there. The kids got spoiled with lots of Easter candy (being Easter was the holiday on our trip). Which I'm still getting sick of seeing all the candy, LOL. For this mama who needs to loose weight, it's hard when you have chocolate eggs and rabbits over taking your kitchen pantry. On the trip it seemed we drove threw nearly the 4 seasons with Washington, Cali, and Colorado spring rain, Oregon, Missouri and Tennessee had the hot summer like weather and we even dealt with Snow in some places...it was crazy! Man did it mess with my Allergies and Asthma but I did good staying on top of my meds. Now though the trip was fun, reality hit when we walked into our new home. A beautiful home at that but to have moved was hard on me emotionally. To leave so many great friends and the best supportive command my husband was stationed to yet. To have to watch my 5yr not understand why he had to leave his school and friends. It's hard to start all over and be peachy about it. But so far we are doing our best.

the new house

Now almost 4 weeks here we are now settling in more. Still have some minor decorating to do around the house like window treatments and picture hang but those are so easy to get done. We've found a church. I've transferred my Curves membership here so I can start loosing all the travel weight plus more. I've also joined a few local groups online so I can hopefully meet folks around here (I've made some of my greatest friends online in the past so maybe I can make new ones again). This weekend should prove interesting as Matthew has invited a co-worker and his family over for dinner. I truly hope it goes well. Though I'm sure it will and if it doesn't OH WELL cos my life will go on.
Which, meanwhile, as life goes on I want to get back to my crafting. I've been itching to do so... especially painting this time around. I need to also reopen shop, so I set the date of May 30th for my Grand Reopening! I'm hoping to get new items in there and get business up and running like crazy :). So with all this in mind I will sign off and get to crackin' on some craftin', LOL.

Moving Special

Well it's been a crazy month in getting ready to move cross country. 2 little ones and 3 pets it's going to be a nightmare. So with all the stress and busy, busy, busy....it's been the reason I've been very quiet online. Just haven't had the time but to check and reply emails. Crazy. In the mean time though I wanted to share that all items in my shop has FREE SHIPPING till the 27th. Well readers gotta get back to my reality....See you in VA next month.

I got spotlighted on someones blog

So I got very excited the other day to get a note on Etsy that another blogger spotlighted my bracelet here along with other great crocheted artist. check their blog out......

Business has been very sloooooooooow....but I'm trying to keep optimistic about it. I hope this gets a bit of a boost in my shop. I know people are liking my items.....

Well I hope everyone had a great holiday. I know we sure did. I would blog on more about the family fun of our holiday but standing up to type at a computer desk is now fun.....but saddly or should I say painfully I took a spill on our stairs the other day and bruised my tailbone so it hurts like no other to sit. So I'm off to lay down on my stomach and watch a movie with the kids.

HAPPY NEW YEARS

Her name is Betty

Ok so we had another great snow day. Normally I'm not one to play in the snow cos I hate getting cold.....but it wasn't to bad and I have My hubby and son to attack with snowballs in revenge, HA HA HA. I've also never made a snowman in my life beside itty bitty ones that sit on the porch rail, LOL. So today I took my scuplting talent to the test....TEE HEE.
Her Name is Betty........

I was cheated on, LOL.

I am her creator

Leave it to my 4yr old to mention to his Mamaw (my mom) that our snowlady had "boobies"

Meet Billy

So I was at a store the other day in the toy section and noticed those Ugly Dolls. Well my theme this year for gift giving is homemade and upcycled. So I couldn't resist making one with more a teddy bear look for the cutness. I named him billy. He's made for a little girl I know out of upcycled upholstery and vintage button with a scrap fabric heart. I know he doesn't have a mouth but I thought the eyes had enough personality that he didn't need it and my friends that was over agreed. My hubby thought it was a horrible looking bear and couldn't believe I would do this on purpose, LOL, but my 19mo old LOVED him. So I guess I'm going to have to make one for her as well....LOL. So I figure Hey if it passed my toddler test I'm sure the gift will be a hit with the toddler (leaving nameless so the parents don't know, LOL) I'm giving this to for christmas. I even added a note....

"Hi, *****!
My name is Billy.
I may not be the
Cutiest bear on the
block but I was
made with lots of
love and a unique
personality
XOXO"

So anywho, I know I've been gone awhile in the blogging world but with the holidays I've been busy busy. Busy with having fun with my family, now that my hubby is home, like going to or having christmas parties, went to an awesome Concert (first childless date we had in a LONG time, TEE HEE) and busy with getting all the christmas gifts done or bought. I kinda can't wait for the holidays to be over so I can get back to a slower routine. Though I have been enjoying life. Happy Holidays

Christmas came early for me :D

Hubby said I need to call it my late anniv. / early christmas present. But I finally got my car I've been wanting since Saturn first came out with them. I got a 2008 Saturn Outlook XE....Isn't she pretty? Hard to tell in the scanned pic Saturn gave us but she's a midnight blue. Now I can fit in with the cool soccer moms, LOL. Not that I'm a soccer mom right now but a mom I am. It was so funny to seeing the shock on Kaylahs face when she was throwing a fit and I brought down the tv screen for the dvd player it came with. Talk about an easy way home last night since lord help me I had forgotten her "Passie" (Trying so hard to break her off of it). No one believes me that my little baby girl becomes a little demon from "Passie" withdraws. It's crazy. Now Zachary he was funny cos he thinks he gets to have his cartoons in the car all the time but I told him ONLY on LONG TRIPS! That he's lucky cos mommy and daddy never even had anything like this as a kid.....it was road bingo or other self entertaining car games....LOL. Now Granted the DVD player was a bonus cos if it was me I wouldn't have added that package into the car but it was already hooked up with one. Call me old fashion...I'm sure I'll grow old being the lady that tells "when I was your age..." stories.....but whatever. Kids today are spoiled and yes I will admit mine are at times as well. But anywho...I love my new car. I had to share my new gift I got, LOL. :D

Enjoying life....

So I think it's time to get out of my MIA status and get back to reality. Now that hubby is off of leave and back to work it's time to get back to the ol' routine, during the day anyways, when he's not home. It's so great to have him home!! Kaylah, our 19mo old DD, had a little bit of warming up to daddy again (as you can see in the homecoming picture where she would not let go of me). I think she didn't find him real at first. "HEY this man came out of the TV and photos!!", LOL. Zachary is takin in some of the changes well. Except for the control of the remote and TV...LOL. Oh well. But it's been nice to hear Hubby play his Guitar, Act his dorkous self and just have the extra help I need.

Like I said though back to the ol' routine....I have a busy rest of the month ahead of me. Our Curves I go to is having a Holiday Craft Fair. So I need to bust products out and I also need to hit the hardware store to get some stuff to make a Display props to put my jewelery on that I'm going to sell being that this is the first fair or whatnot I've ever done. I also need to get busy on finishing up christmas gifts as well. Right now I'm in the middle of my MIL's gift and then I recently bought the stuff I needed for my Mom's gift. Busy Busy me....EEECK

simple change in decorating....

So back in July I decided I had enough of sleeping in a bachelor/dorm looking bedroom...because saddly when you go threw my house it's all nicely decorated (kinda)and put together...even the kids room! Then there was our room....yeah, the catch all and literally we were using old moving boxes covered with sheets as night stands....Ghetto fab I know. So I spent probably $200 on a simple redecorating...and yeah I could of really added personality to the room with some color paint but living in military housing I'm in no mood to turn around and repaint the room white when we move out let alone have to fill out the paper work with the leasing office to paint the room. It would also be nice to have a whole bedroom set but it's not in our budget right now. But for $200 I don't think I did to bad with what I had. So with the excitment of my hubby's return home from a 6mo. deployment tonight why not show off the bedroom...LOL!!! Hey it's going to be business time tonight!!! ;)....WHOO HOO!!

My New Item was loved so much I got Taged :P

Thanks Rockerchic, LOL.....Let see first rules....

THEE RULES:
*** Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
*** Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
*** Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their name as well as links to their blog.
*** Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

2nd my dorky ways or interesting odd facts however you want to look at it. Either way I'm a Dorky Gal with Crazy traits, LOL....

1. I have no fear to burp or pass gas in front of my close friends. I firmly believe God gave us these noises in humor. So yes I still laugh about it at time like I'm 6 or something and also I won a burping contest about 12 yrs ago.
2. Speaking of contest.....I sure I can play Fear Factor in bug eating. In my SR year of H.S. our history class made a sod house.....In one of the sod patch I found a worm and was goofing off with my guy friends that I was going to eat it. One bet me $5 and yes I did....I ate me an earth worm...and it wasn't the first time either. In 2002 the local radio station here in Seattle, 107 the end, was doing a game at Fright Fest (Wild Wave's Amusment parks Halloween theme) for concert tickets to Korn and other prizes...To get the prize you had to bob for them in "WORMS" when we first saw the bucket it was Spaghetti and tomatoe sauce so My husband and I signed up to do it.....When the game started we found out there were actually earthworms also in it. My husband chickened out but when it came to my turn I was more in it than the big tuff looking guys before me. I even made the DJ feeling sick watching me bob for a prize taking in mouth full of worms and spaghetti to move it out of my way (cos you couldn't use hands). I had them flying all over the place. It was all in my hair, down my shirt....I was gross....Needless to say in the min. time though I didn't win anything but I did leave with a CD cos of how into it I got. LOL. My husband was sooo appalled by me, LOL.
3. I have a compulsive dissorder to make sure the front door is locked....it would be nothing for me to leave the house walk down the street then turn around to check the door again like 3 or 4 times. Till I have to tell myself the door is lock over and over again in my head. I also have the same issue with my car that I'll put the alarm on when it locks but if I don't remember hearing the beap I'll do it again after walking past 4 cars in the parking lot.
4. I don't know if this is strange or unusual but I have a clicking jaw. Due to me having a small mouth and crowded teeth. So if I open it up to wide like yawning it pops. ( get your mind out of the gutter!)
5. hummm...Oh when I was in grade school I had an obsession with Denim and Plaid. One year I think it was my 5th grade year all I wore was denim and plaid. I even had a denim jumpsuit and Denim converse shoes with purple Plaid inner lining. Those were the best and if I could get my hands on converse like that I'd wear em still. I mean even to this day I like denim and plaid....My bedding use to be till I redecorated this summer was Denim and the sheets were green and blue plaid. LOL. I even tend to lean towards Denim and plaid fabrics too when I go out for craft supplies or buying my kids cloths.

6. Japanese toliets!! I know it's been over almost 8 yrs since I last seen one of these thing but I swear in the potty world they tramatized me. I can't just plop a squat and go. I have bladder shyness and so I have to feel that Cold Porclien on my butt. It was nothing in Japan if we were road tripping and I had to go, that when we pulled up to a stop and I would potty dance my way in that you would see me come running right back out. Telling my husband we must find a western toilet. I even went all day holding it till the wish was made. This is a pic of my potty nightmare.....

Oh and here is a FUNNY comic I found online about Japanese toliets and how to use em'...
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~AD8Y-HYS/movie.htm Yes that would of been me in the last screen...I'm sure of it. Cos I'm not graceful one bit.

7. Ok this isn't to strange or in the dorky factor (but since rockerchic already posted her dorkiness of being a Sims2 Addict I couldn't very well put that in mine)but it's something alot of people never realize unless my hubby and I are standing together or I'm wearing heals cos he thinks me being even taller is flippen' HOT....but yes I'm taller than my hubby. He's 5'5" and I'm 5'8" (sorry I couldnt' find a recent picture of us showing our height diffrents besides Halloween last year)

People I'm tagging....HA HA ;P

~I'M LIKE A CURRY :D

Added More...

Well dispite the fact that I'm having a slow craft week....I did squeeze in some time to add 2 new items to my shop earlier today. I'm actually loving my ruffle cuff I made last night while watching the news on the election. Fun Fun....So here they are.....

Slow crafting this week

So this week I'm going to be lacking in my crafts....Sorry. I'm getting ready for hubby to get home from deployment :D. And Go Fig....I barely put a dent in my to do list during the past 6 mos., LOL, then again I'm not to frazzeled by it. I have way to much to look forward to than worry about the "to do list". Though I am going to be trying to cram some of the stuff I was meaning to do with in the week. Mainly clearing some household clutter I hide behind closet doors, LOL, and finally catch up on ALL the laundry and get it all put away :P.

So till next week :D.......
